Great Orme Tramway

Welcome to the Great Orme Tramway

Covid 19 – Great Orme Tramway Update

We would like to update you on our plans for opening of the Great Orme Tramway for the 2020 season.

We are postponing the opening of our 2020 season until further notice. This means that no trams will be running and Victoria Station, Halfway Station and the Great Orme Visitor Centre, will remain closed.

We are closely following the advice from the Government and when this changes we will adjust our approach to meet the new advice.

We will make further announcements on our future plans on our website and Facebook page at the earliest opportunity. Groups who have booked to visit us during March, April and May will be contacted by our bookings team.

We look forward to welcoming you, when we reopen, to experience this unique heritage attraction.

The Great Orme Tramway is Britain’s only funicular, or cable-hauled, tramway that travels on public roads. Delighting visitors since it opened in 1902.

The Tramway climbs a mile (1500m) through the Great Orme Country Park and Nature Reserve to the Great Orme’s spectacular summit. Re-live the experience of travel more than 100 years ago in the lovingly restored original tramcars, each named after a Saint.

The unique journey begins at Victoria Station, a short distance from Llandudno’s seaside and pier.

The Great Orme ’s dynamic beauty, rich history and natural splendour are well worth the journey.

Special discounts available for Schools and Groups of 10 or more.

Come and experience how people have been travelling for over 100 years on this unique and historical Llandudno institution.
